3 Healthy and Delicious Smoothie Recipes

Smoothies or fruit and vegetable coctails have become extremely popular over the last decade. They are perfect for a quick breakfast or a refreshing treat and a great way to get loads of nutrients into your diet.

Not all smoothies are equally healthy. An ordinary drink can turn into a high-calorie dessert due to the wrong combo of its ingredients.

If you want to get a healthy drink, you should avoid including the following ingredients into your smoothie:

  • ice-cream
  • whipped cream/cream
  • sugar or sugar-based syrups
  • chocolate, cookies, confectionery, etc.

However, smoothies that contain the following ingredients can be safely included into your diet:

  • fruits, berries, veggies;
  • water, or coconut water, milk, or a dairy-free alternative such as soya or nut milk, natural or vegan yogurt;
  • medjool dates, maple/agave/date syrup, or honey are used to add sweetness to the drink;
  • a small amount of nuts or seeds.

Such smoothies are nutrient packed and keep your body clean and healthy.

Here are 3 healthy smoothie recipes for a delicious breakfast or an afternoon treat.
